Membership has it's benefits...

Your membership ensures that we can continue to provide emergency health care to animals at the pound facility of the Great Slave Animal Hospital, as well as help to educate the public on the benefits of spaying and neutering their pets.

Periodically we send out requests for volunteers. We’ll never ask for much of your time – usually no more than two hours. Some of the usual events that we might need your help are:

Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce Spring Trade Show – May
Raven Mad Daze Booth – June.
NWT SPCA Dog Jog – September.
Calendar selling in the Centre Square Mall – November / December.

If you’re interested in becoming more involved either as a regular member or on our Board of Directors you’re welcome to attend our regular monthly meetings on the last Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Explorer Hotel.

Members are also encouraged to become part of the Pound Dog Walking Program. By walking the pound dogs at the Great Slave Animal Hospital you’d help find them a new home – a happier, more relaxed dog means that their personality is going show through better to potential adopters. All you need to do is take a short 30 minute dog walking orientation.

By being a member you’re entitled to special discounts at these pet-supporting local businesses. You just need to have your card with you to redeem:
