NWT SPCA COMMITTEES
We are ALWAYS desperate for more help. We need people like you - someone who can spare an hour or two a month to help out with an event, help us plan or do do a little bit of manual labour. We'll never ask for too much of your time but right now 6 board members are running all of the following committees... please help out where you can and thank you!
Pound Dog Walking
Attend an orientation session then walk pound dogs whenever you have time. Visit the Pound Dog Walking section on OUR PROGRAMS page.
Education Program
We've developed a program to go into local schools to educate about pet care and the benefits of spaying. If you have ideas or time we could use your help.
Fund Raising
All of our funds are from donations from the public so we always need brilliant ways to raise money. Be part of our team and help raise some funds!
Event Planning
Help us schedule volunteers, as well as develop and coordinate events such as Caribou Carnival, the Trade Show, our annual Dog Jog and more.
Pet Calendar
We need help selling ads, choosing the winning photos, keeping track of sales, deliveries and making sure people get their photos back.
Pound Pet Posters
We need a person dedicated to putting up posters around town once a month. We have a list, you just need to pick up the posters from the printer and put them up.
Sitting and Selling
Do you have a spare couple of hours? Come and sit at our booth for one of our events helping to give out information on what the NWT SPCA does.
Writing or Design
Can you write, develop a proposal, proofread, draw, design a poster, or do just about anything creative? We'd love to get some fresh ideas!
Come to Meetings
We have a regular board meeting the last Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Explorer Hotel. Your input and ideas would be very appreciated.
Legislation
We'd like to update the Territorial Dog Act. We need people to help us do that. Have experience in law or legislation? We need your help!
Brilliant Ideas
Have a brilliant idea to help us fundraise or educate? Or how about a fresh take on how to get our word out?
